The One Thing Your Joints Might Be Missing

You lift, you stretch, you exercise regularly. So why do your joints still feel… a bit off?
A bit creaky, stuck, or like they’re not moving like they they used to?

Muscle strength is important—but it’s not the whole picture when it comes to joint health.

Our joints are designed to move in lots of different ways—twist, glide, bend, shift, rotate. But if your movement patterns are on repeat (the same gym sessions, the same walking route, the same yoga poses), your joints aren’t getting the variety they need to stay healthy.

That’s when things can start to feel tight, compressed, or even painful—not because you’re weak or doing something wrong, but because your joints are craving different inputs.

Your body’s tissues are responsive. They adapt to what you do most often… and they also get a bit lazy with what you don’t do. So if you’re strong in one range but never move into other angles or directions, your joints may start to feel less resilient.

Here’s the good news: small changes make a big difference. A few minutes of varied, intentional movement each day can bring life back into your joints and help them move more smoothly again.

Things like:

  • Circles, spirals, and “odd” angles
  • Gentle moving, rocking, or shifting weight
  • Moving through different levels (standing, kneeling, all fours)
  • Micro-movements that explore the in-between spaces

That’s why in Mybod in Motion, we focus on strength and mobility, exploring angles that traditional workouts often skip. It’s about building a body that not only looks strong but feels capable in everyday life—twisting to reach the back seat, squatting down to the garden, getting up and down off the floor with ease.

If you’re already moving regularly but still feel like something’s missing, this might be the piece of the puzzle.
