Feel Like You’ve Lost Yourself a Bit?

Are you always on the go, doing all the things, ticking the boxes, showing up for work, family, appointments… but you feel a bit off?
Like your head’s full, your energy’s scattered, and your body’s just dragging behind trying to keep up?
Somewhere along the way, you’ve lost that sense of connection to yourself. Not in a dramatic way, just a low-level feeling out of sync kind of way.
One of the fastest ways I know to shift that?
Move first. Think later.
I don’t mean smashing out a workout or stretching for an hour. I mean 3, maybe 5 minutes of mindful, intentional movement to get you breathing, paying attention, and feeling your body from the inside.
Movement has this incredible way of bringing you back home.
Not in a woo-woo way (but also, there’s nothing wrong with that) but in a real, physiological way.
When you move with awareness, your brain tunes in.
Your nervous system regulates. You shift gears.
And that’s when you feel like you again.
Sometimes people think they need to “figure things out” first, make a plan, journal it, or get their head clear before doing anything.
But more often than not, the clarity comes after the movement.
So if you’re feeling foggy, stuck, or a bit disconnected — try this:
- Stand up, close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths
- Then move in any way that feels good: a sway, a twist, a gentle roll down and up again
- Let your breath guide your pace
- Let your body lead instead of your brain
Then ask: Do I feel even 1% more connected now than I did before?
That’s all it takes to start the shift.
